BMWs to enjoy Driver of the Day awards thanks to Merlin Motorsport - January 6, 2005

Castle Combe based supplier Merlin Motorsport are to award prizes at each of the 2006 races for the "Merlin Motorsport Driver of the Day" as part of a wider sponsorship agreement. "During the season, we will be awarding a £50 Merlin Motorsport gift voucher to the driver in each race who has showed courage , determination and real racing skill on the track", says BMWRDC president Trevor Ford.

"We were approached by the BMWRDC with a promotional package that provides us with great covergae and also allows us to give something back to the sport. The racing is close and exciting and the championship has a strong following, making it a sound proposition ", said Merlin's Steven Roberts.

The move sees Merlin Motorsport join Kumho and the BMW Car Club GB as sponsors in 2006. Registered drivers already receive free membership to the BMW Car Club and all of its related offers and member discounts, whilst Kumho provides essential backing as series title sponsor. "The move to partner with Merlin further develops the package we are able to offer drivers who race in the championship whilst delivering superb promotional opportunities in return" says Trevor.

Based in the paddock at Castle Combe circuit, Merlin Motorsport have recently re-launched their e-commerce website at www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk enabling online ordering from their extensive stock of motorsport accessories.

BMW Racing Drivers Club confirms major sponsor deal for 2006 - December 5, 2005

For the ninth consecutive year, the BMW Racing Drivers Club are pleased to confirm that Kumho Tyres will once again provide backing as the title sponsor for the 2006 one make series. Trevor Ford, club president confirmed "We are delighted to continue our long standing relationship with Kumho and are already taking many registrations for the 2006 championship."

Running on the control Kumho Ecsta road pattern tyre with a motorsport compound, the Kumho BMW Championship is renowned as the fastest road tyred championship in the country. Three classes based on power to weight ratios ensure close, exciting across a wide range of BMW models including the iconic E30 M3, M5, Z3 and E46 M3.

"The backing of a key sponsor such as Kumho is key to maintaining our high profile on the club racing scene and to support this ongoing relationship, a newly formed committee for 2006 includes dedicated resources for the promotion of our sponsors, drivers and championship," remarks Trevor.

Updates to the current regulations awaiting confirmation by the MSA promise exciting updates for 2006 aimed at further enhancing the spectacle of the one make championship, already a firm favourite of many a spectator, marshal and racer alike.
